Recently, our association was invited to participate in the EOD model policy training meeting organized by the EOD Innovation Center of the Planning Institute of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

This training aims to deepen the understanding of the EOD model, explore its key role in promoting ecological economic development, and how to effectively implement relevant policies.

Eco-environment-oriented development (EOD model for short) is based on ecological protection and environmental governance, supported by characteristic industrial operations, and based on regional comprehensive development, adopting industrial chain extension and joint operations , combined development and other methods to promote the effective integration of ecological environment management projects with strong public welfare and poor profitability and related industries with better profits, coordinate promotion and integrated implementation, and internalize the economic value brought by ecological environment governance, It is an innovative way of organizing and implementing projects.

Participants come from government departments, social organizations, business circles and academia. Through this training, they have a clearer understanding of the EOD model.

As an important participant in this training, the Beijing International Ecological Economic Association will apply the knowledge and experience learned at the training meeting to actual work, actively play the role of bridge and link, and promote communication and communication between the government, enterprises and the public. Cooperate and contribute to building ecological civilization and achieving green development.

Recently, intangible cultural heritage food experts visited our association and conducted special discussions on green food, intangible cultural heritage towns and ecological tourism. The visit of experts not only provided new ideas for the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage food, but also pointed out the direction for the integrated development of green food and eco-tourism. In the future, with the continuous advancement of intangible cultural heritage towns and eco-tourism, people will have more opportunities to personally experience and enjoy the health and fun brought by green food, and at the same time, they will also be able to more deeply understand and appreciate the charm of traditional culture.

On February 24, 2024, on the occasion of the Lantern Festival, our association and the River and Lake Environmental Technology Development Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University jointly established the Seaweed Ecological Industry Economic Research Center. Witnessing the event was Shao Watanabe, School of Earth Environment, Kyoto University Graduate School, Japan . Professor Yu , Professor Kong Hainan from the School of Environmental Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University , Professor Zhang Xingqi from the Institute of Hydrobiology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Zhang Xingqi from the School of Geography and Marine Sciences of Nanjing University . This listing was especially supported by Li Libiao, director of Dali Prefecture Ecological Environment Bureau, and leaders of Eryuan County. After the listing, everyone listened to the development strategy of sea cauliflower. I will use sea cauliflower as the starting point of ecological economy. On July 1, 2020, the drafting group expert of the "Green Development and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Application in the Non-metallic Sandstone Industry" of the National Green Mine Environmental Protection and High Quality Development Series recommended that the exchange meeting should be held at the International Ecological Economy Promotion Association (IEEPA); Li Junyang, Acting Vice President , Cui Wenlong, Deputy General Manager of China National Building Materials Group Geological Engineering Exploration Academy Co., Ltd., and related academic experts jointly discussed and had an in-depth communication of the upcoming "Green Development and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Application in the Non-metallic Sandstone Industry", one of the National Green Mine Environmental Protection and High Quality Development Series.

The National Green Mine Environmental Protection and High Quality Development Series is to guide and standardize the non-metallic sandstone mining industry to quickly move toward green, industrial, intensive, digital, intelligent, international and healthy and sustainable development. The stone mining industry promotes the construction of a number of exemplary enterprises with national-level green mine environmental protection and high-quality development.

"Green Development and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Application in the Non-metallic Sandstone Industry" is China's first "Guide to the Construction of National Green Mine Non-metallic Sandstone Mining Industry Demonstration Standards", which was published in June 2019. Chapter 5, 6, 7 are the outline, respectively in three aspects of "green exploration and development of sand and gravel resources, energy conservation and efficient use of energy, and ecological environmental protection", specifying the requirements and systems of green mines in the sand and gravel industry in the field of high-quality economic and environmental development and construction, elaborating the technical points in the construction of green mines, as well as new technologies and methods, which are practical and forward-looking, and have the value of demonstration to lead the development of the industry.

The book is divided into six chapters and appendices. The first chapter is an overview of the sand and gravel industry, which defines and classifies the aggregates, and systematically analyzes the history of development, current status, existing problems and development trends of the sand and gravel industry; the second chapter is an introduction of production technologies of the gravel and aggregates, describing the mining and processing technology of sand and gravel aggregates; Chapter three is the green exploration and development of sand and gravel resources, describing the distribution of sand and gravel resources, the requirements for green exploration and development and construction, and the efficient and comprehensive utilization of sand and gravel resources The fourth chapter is about energy saving and energy efficient utilization. It elaborates the energy saving overview, analyzes the energy consumption of the sand and gravel industry, and proposes energy saving and consumption reducing measures, discussing the feasibility of the application of new technologies and new energy in the sand and gravel industry. The fifth chapter is ecological environment protection, which discusses the pollution control methods of waste gas, waste water, noise, solid waste, etc. generated in the production process of sand and gravel mines and the measures of ecological environmental protection; the sixth chapter is the construction of green gravel mines, systematically sorting out the national green mine construction policies, the general situation of green mine construction in various provinces, the requirements for the construction of sand and green mines, and the declaration and acceptance process of sand and green mines; the appendix extracts the relevant standards and specifications for green mine construction in the sand and gravel industry.

Sand and gravel mines are the important foundation for the "big infrastructure" and "new infrastructure" to revitalize the economy after the epidemic. The drafting group of "The Green Development and Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Application of the Non-metallic Sandstone Industry in the National Green Mines" of the National Green Mine Environmental Protection and High Quality Development Series will continue to deepen the field of high-quality development of non-metallic sandstone mines, further lead the industry's high-quality development, and promote the high-quality development of the environment and economy.

Li Junyang said that this series of books aims to demonstrate and lead the high-quality and sustainable development of the entire sandstone mining industry, to provide guidance for the construction and high-quality development of sandstone mining enterprise demonstration projects, and to provide environmental protection, energy conservation and resources. In general, starting from higher environmental protection requirements and high-quality, industrial coordination, and sustainable development goals, the top-level design of the standard schemes independently undertaken by enterprises to undertake project demonstrations, scientific planning, rational layout, and optimization from a strategic perspective. The structure of the industrial chain is to set a higher goal for long-term development, with the focus on leading. The key demonstration projects currently under planning and construction in Guangdong Province will become the first batch of demonstration bases for economic and environmental "double high" construction.

Cui Wenlong introduced, China National Building Materials Geological Engineering Exploration Academy was established in the 1950s and is affiliated to China National Building Materials Group Co., Ltd., which is directly managed by the China Building Materials Industry Geological Prospecting Center. It is the only non-metallic mineral system in Sinoma Group that also focuses on research unit. At present, China's annual output of raw coal in 2019 is 3.75 billion tons, while the output of sandstone mines in 2019 is as high as more than 20 billion tons. Compared with other minerals, the sandstone mine market has traditionally had low entry barriers. The technical parameters related to the mining field are very scarce, and the market in the segmented field needs to be further strengthened. Therefore, writing and publishing a series of books, regardless of application value, market value and research value, has very important guiding significance and practical needs.

On May 29th , 2020, the Party Secretary, the Chief Executive Huo Zhonghe, the vice president and relevant departments of CECEP paid a visit to the office of IEEPA, the ActingVice President of IEEPA, participated in the meeting,  accompanied by the director of IEEPA and members of its cooperation department. Both sides held a successful discussion on the mechanisms to balance economical developments and sustainability of our environment.

Thanks to the support of officials and professionals, IEEPA will continue to make joint efforts with CECEP, and adopt more ecological thinking into the green industries, in hope of accelerating the developments and reducing certain backdrops in current situations. CEO Huo Zhonghe introduced CECEP, especially about the strategic role of its consulting company and its developments. Meanwhile, he mentioned their green bonds program, which is the main platform for pollution management of Yangtze Economic Belt. In the future, they will strengthen interactions, focusing on the function of the consulting company as a green center in terms of climate financing. He also showed his willingness for further cooperation and possible exchanges with IEEPA.  

China Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Group Paid a Visit to IEEPA and Held Exchanges on Ecological Economy

On May 24th, the Public Civilization Guidance and Coordination Office of Beijing Dongcheng District sent a pennant to the International Ecological Economic Promotion Association (IEEPA) to express its gratitude for the donations and supportive work during the anti-COVID19 period.

"We sincerely thank the IEEPA! Your deeds have profoundly interpreted the anti-epidemic spirit and sense of social responsibility. Virus has no mercy, but humans do. The secretary and director of Dongcheng Public Civilization Guidance and Coordination Office visited the IEEPA office, and sent the pennant to the Administrative Director of the IEEPA and praised the work of the IEEPA in person. 

Dongcheng District Public Civilization guidance and coordination office is mainly responsible for the civilized guidance, personnel inspection and order management and control of public places such as traffic intersections, school surroundings, parks, etc. it is one of the most important civilization-window department in Beijing, and manages more than 700 Public Civilization Guides. Since the COVID-19 prevention and control work began, the Coordination Office has mobilized resources to the greatest extent under the overall arrangement of the Publicity Department of the District Committee and closely cooperated with various epidemic prevention deployments, becoming an important force for epidemic prevention and control.

Nowadays, the domestic epidemic prevention and control is turning better and shows positive trends. However, governments and organizations at all levels and the grassroots are still serious about the prevention and control of the epidemic and play their  roles in defeating COVID-19.

IEEPA keeps staying in the front line of epidemic prevention. Our staff, including our interns who have just started their careers and volunteered to join, took turns to undertake the duty every day. Their selfless dedication indicates the power of public welfare from joining social organizations and taking action for the society.

During their duty at the grass-roots, the staff learned that, due to the long time span of the epidemic prevention and control, the great amount of front-line checkpoints, and the large number of participants, there was a shortage of the epidemic prevention materials. The grassroots leaders of the Zhandong Community of Jianguomen Subdistrict Office in Dongcheng District in Beijing asked the IEEPA staffs whether IEEPA can help provide some materials that are always in short supply because of the huge daily usage of the epidemic prevention. Facing the need of epidemic prevention at the grassroots, the leaders of IEEPA took the lead in planning. The mission is to meet the needs of the epidemic prevention. The development of social organizations is also indispensable from the support of the municipal party committee and the municipal government. Nowadays, it’s our time to take action and we cannot set back. Therefore, IEEPA decided to take a proportion of the organization’s funding for purchasing materials, in order to ensure the needs of grassroots epidemic prevention materials, which is our priority, to fully support the front line of grassroots, as well as to contribute to defeating the epidemic.

With efficiently organizing and operating, IEEPA got the needed materials in three working days, and immediately sent the masks, disinfectants, and other donated anti-epidemic materials to the Jianguomen Street Office and the Zhandong Community where the association is on duty in the morning of April 13. According to the person who is in the charge of the sub-district office and the community, since the onset of epidemic prevention and control work, IEEPA have provided great support and it’s the second shipment of donated materials. At the same time, the volunteer from IEEPA are on duty when the flow of people is most concentrated, which helps relieve the work intensity and pressure of the staff in the grassroots, especially in the emergency response. There are many shining points worth learning.

IEEPA has just effectively dealt with a security risk emergency at the duty point of Zhandong Community. A Heilongjiang person who came to Beijing concealed his travel records and still occurred in the streets in Beijing when his was 39℃. The IEEPA staffs came up to take immediate action, a special process. On the one hand, they reported to the person in charge of the community immediately. On the other hand, in order to release the pressure, they started language counseling so that he/she should not be worried or afraid. They told the person that everyone came here to help and the medical services in Beijing are great. They also mentioned that, firstly he/she would be sent to take a test to see whether he/she is infected, if so, he/she can get efficient treatment, otherwise, he/she will be sent to be isolated in a designated hotel with great care. All the actions greatly eased the tension of he/she, and therefore IEEPA was praised by the community leaders and grassroots cadres.

In the afternoon of April 16th, at the interval between duties, the director and the party secretary of the Zhandong Community of Jianguomen Station came to the office of IEEPA in person with the community's Thank You Letter and certificates, showing their gratitude for such a strong support from IEEPA. Li Junyang, the full-time vice president of IEEPA welcomed them warmly. Li said, as a municipal first-class organization, the epidemic prevention work is not only IEEPA’s obligation but also the responsibility, and the community staff at the front line contributed more. He also mentioned, based on current situations, the epidemic prevention and control will continue, and the front line of the community is the most critical part at the moment. IEEPA hopes to continually promote the spirit of Beijing’s ecological humanism, "Kindness First", with the community cadres during epidemic prevention. We believe that, this experience will become an indelible memory in all our entire lives, because we used to gather and fight together for the safety, the health, as well as the harmony of ecology and humanism of our capital Beijing!

Missions to meet the needs of the epidemic prevention  IEEPA keeps staying in the front line of duty and donated materials and money again to the grass roots——The leaders of the grassroot communities of the capital city expressed their gratitude.

Since the outbreak, the International Ecological Economy Promotion Association(IEEPA) has been proactive at the grassroots of the capital and has participated directly in the quarantine service. One team for two people, has been working in charge of duty in the Jianguomen Street, Dongcheng District, and has significantly alleviated the work intensity and pressure of the personnel working at epidemic checkpoints at the grassroots. In the course of duty, volunteers took the lead and fully promoted t the ecological and humanistic spirit “The First Philanthropist Is Me”.

In accordance with the needs of grassroots work, finest volunteers have been actively drafted into the front by IEEPA and played their role of the Party’s vanguard band. Starting on March 5 with a full-time shift of 2 people at a time for two hours, volunteers have been carrying out uninterrupted duty in the Jianguomen Beijing Railway Station North community. The scope of Jianguomen Street Beijing Railway Station East Street checkpoint, includes not only the hutongs of the armor factory, drawer hutongs, east alley of Paozihe, Beijings Railway Station Police Station, Dongcheng District, city management law enforcement team, Beijing Railway Foreign Transportation，gas company and many other administrative units，but also the Beijing Railway Station East Street community, which is adjacent to Beijing Railway Station, one of major thoroughfares to and from Beijing. In addition to the indigenous residents, there are many other units such as hotels, various small commercial ports and so on. With a large number of vehicles and people moving in and out of the city, the heavy task of epidemic prevention and inspection expects a higher standard of the number of staff and their abilities. As well as the residents and employees come and out on a daily basis, there are also a great number of outsiders come here to do business, which adds a great deal of pressure to the quarantine inspection work.

In particular, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., the flow of people is most concentrated, which objectively makes it impossible to improve efficiency and also irritated personnel from various sectors. This is a time to test the ability of the staff of IEEPA to actively promote the ecological and humanistic spirit “ The First Philanthropist Is Me”; Also, “no haste, be patient” is the top priority at this time. Besides, easy-to-understand explanation, high-efficient organization of personnel, cooperation based on division of labor are required at the same time. The staff should complete a group of personnel inspection within 3 seconds and let them pass immediately.When encountering objective problems, the staff will introduce them to the personnel nearby to explain and offer solutions, in order to avoid road congestion and dense crowds. It is also a big test for the staff to complete every task in a meticulous, correct and efficient way. They are all clear that they must pass this test.

In the course of duty, the staff of IEEPA often encounters with people who are impatient, uncooperative with inspections, or even break into checkpoints, for both objective and subjective reasons. In general, it is important to think in others’ shoes and to be humane. Because the inappropriate communication extremely easily  aggravates contradictions, grassroots work must be prevented from the emergence of this phenomena. Therefore, when faced with this kind of problem, we must take prompt and decisive measures to solve it. Some people are not familiar with the steps of opening health QR codes on WeChat and unable to search their information in the systems. Our staff should guide them patiently and help them to operate and pass in the shortest time. The International Ecological Economy Promotion Association (IEEPA) has its duty, but it is more about serving the public and thinking of ways for the public, which is pivotal. Moreover, IEEPA actively collaborates with the staff of the street office, explains the relevant policies and regulations of epidemic inspection, and asks for others’ understanding. During this anti-epidemic war, everyone has paid a lot.

Shouldering the spirit “The First Philanthropist Is Me”, IEEPA has taken the initiative to demonstrate its capacity to work as a professional organization and a professional team in the capital in a new era. In the grass-roots epidemic inspection work, IEEPA actively shoulder its responsibility as a first-class social organization in the capital. All the staff are conscientious and responsible at the front line of epidemic prevention and control, pass on kindness and love, and demonstrate the image of IEEPA serving the society, contributing to succeeding in this anti-epidemic campaign with all their might, and embodying the unity of all sectors of society in overcoming difficulties.

Promote the Ecological and Humanistic spirit  “The First Philanthropist Is Me” at the grassroots of the capital ——the International Ecological Economy Promotion Association is on duty and doing on-the-spot records.

On November 20, 2019, Mr Li Junyang, IEEPA Vice-President, and Mr Liu Jianmin, IEEPA expert and Director of the State Key Laboratory of Clean and Efficient Coal-fired Power Generation and Pollutant Control, visited Xuzhou Combustion Control Research Institute (Hereafter referred to as “XCC”). The senior leadership and technical staff of XCC accompanied the visitors.

The team of experts visited the production plants No.1-No.4 and experimental  centers. The relevant technical staff of XCC detailed their products, combustion control technique, and manufacturing processes, with the two sides discussing how combustion can be more complete with a higher efficiency.

The group then visited the central control room and observed the main experimental equipment ofXCC. The test center has the largest combustion test platform in Asia, which can be used for ignition and steady-state combustion testing of oil, gas, coal and other fuels. Technicians explained in detail the mechanisms of low-nitrogen combustion, organic exhaust treatment, flare stack system, double-strong micro-oil ignition, plasma non-oil ignition, high alkali coal and other technologies.

At the symposium, the leaders of XCC gave details of the company's development process, market positioning and future development strategy. Technicians also detailed garbage power and uses of the clean energy.

Mr Liu Jianmin pointed out that China’s ecological environment has undergone profound changes, yet waste disposal is still an important task in the ecological sector of environmental protection, because if landfills are used as the main method of treating waste, this will not only waste land resources but also cause groundwater pollution. Further, the garbage power industry has reached a new level. China currently has 30% to 40% of household waste that can be used to generate electricity, and for XCC, the task is not to only make waste power generation “green”, but it is also an opportunity to sell outputs, engage in systematic construction, and the opportunity to seize the market, all forming a virtuous cycle. 

Mr Li Junyang pointed out that the development of the eco-economy is a major trend and that garbage power in line with the economic and environmental protection requirements, government support and enterprise determination, is indispensable for continued growth. At the same time, China’s waste incineration power industry is rapidly developing. However, lack of funds in the early stages of enterprise, dysfunctional operation, low-cost bidding and other issues are gradually exposed. Furthermore, subsidies face the problem of decline and so therefore begin to restrict the development of the industry. The government should support enterprises such as XCC, so that it can form a good momentum of development and turn enterprise disadvantages into an advantage.

IEEPA Experts Conducting Field Research at Xuzhou Combustion Control Research Institute

With a history of 2000 years, the Silk Road spirit embodying peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, and mutual benefits is rejuvenated under the "Belt and Road Initiative". However, it is still extremely challenging for the world to achieve blue water and sky by now, and people throughout the world are living in an environment calling for urgent improvement. The persistence of poverty, the social gap that is far from narrowing, and the disorganized economic development and human activities result in ecological pollution that cause huge environmental costs and survival crisis, leaving the nature being destroyed by human beings in large scale. Famine causes drought, and the severe ecology reality engulfs countless homes. In this context,

We have to reconsider the relationship between the environment and development, and think about policies and systems for balancing the ecological environment and economic development.

In order to promote the green and low-carbon transformational development of the world and to establish a global ecological aid system, it is time for every one of us to make our contributions for ecological system aid for the earth, for the world, for our country, for the people, and for our homes.

Therefore, we make this Initiative to call for the government, the industrial community, research institutions, social organizations, and individuals from all countries to work constantly and explore actively a road of "Belt and Road, Blue Water and Sky" for all the people on the world, i.e. a road of sustainable development reaching to the far future and supporting the civilization and prosperity of human beings.

Governments of all countries to seek the "biggest common denominator" for ecological protection and environment responsibility by formulating policies and systems integrating the environmental capacity with economic development, thereby reaching the objective of sustainable development by strategies on the national level. On the principles of ecological and environmental protection, pay attention to the protection of biological diversity and the prevention and control of systematic environment risks; promulgate laws and regulations to implement strict environmental quality standards, control the discharge of industrial wastes, and greatly reduce air and water pollution; encourage the research and development of ecological and environmental protection and of low-carbon technologies, and promote the use of clean energy and technologies; and innovate the ecological and green financial system to support ecological cities and human residential environment construction projects.
